Cinemanila Machinima filmfest calls for entries!

The 11th Cinemanila International Film Festival, set in Taguig City will present a new feature called the Machinima Film Festival.

Machinima uses popular videogames such as Grand Theft Auto, Sims 2, World of Warcraft, etc. integrated in video footages/film which students can make without the usual expenses involved in filmmaking.

A growing filmmaking movement, Machinima targets gamers who have wondered at the what-if scenarios a game character could have done or the different storyline the game could have taken.

Cinemanila opens Machinima Film Festival to individuals or groups, whether amateur, professional or independent. Entries must be the sole work and/or justly represented by the entrant. Collaborative pieces must include credits for additional contributors.

Interested individuals or groups may choose to join any one or both of two categories: Short film and music video.

Deadline for all entries and submission of materials is on Sept. 21, 5 p.m. For registration, detailed information and FAQs on Machinima entry submissions, visit www.cinemanila.org.ph or e-mail cinemanila@gmail.com.
