Compostela Valley landslide left casualties and injured!
A landslide that occurred at 3:45AM Thursday left 25 people dead, 15 injured, and 100 more missing in Purok Diat Uno and Diat Dos in Barangay Napnapan, Compostela Valley.

PAGASA officer-in-charge Graciano Yumul explained what may have caused the landslide.
“Ang nagcause is ang ‘antecedent rainfall’, yung pag-ulan na nangyari bago ang lanslide, maidudugtong niyo na siya sa panahon ng Sendong kasi ang eastern Mindanao, kasama ang Compostela Valley, ay nakatangap ng maraming pag-ulan,” he said. An earthquake that struck Davao Oriental earlier (12:01AM), which is located east of ComVal may have also contributed to the incident.
The Department of Natural Resources had earlier identified the area as landslide-prone and not fit for habitation.
